There are many different marketing methods that you can use to build your MLM business.  Your greatest success, however, will be to really pay attention and learn 1 or 2 marketing methods at a time.  Become an expert generating & closing leads - then move onto the next method.

When I started in this industry, I tried to be all things to all people and attempted to market my business in many different ways.  I did not focus on 1 or 2 methods of marketing and it resulted in failure.  If you only have 10 hours a week to build your business - you should not be focusing on marketing using 5 different methods.  You will be diluting yourself and never really becoming an expert in a particular marketing method.  But if you focused your 10 hours on 1 method and continually did this for 6 months and became an expert and generating leads and building your business - then you can then move onto another marketing niche.

The marketing niche that I have seen the most success is advertising in Craigslist and generating 10-15 leads per day.  I also purchase aged leads for folks that are interested in starting a home business.  The basic method is to collect the basic information and call them up and qualify them as possible fits for your business.

The basic method for these leads is to 1) talk to them 2) send them a simple message/video 3) close them.  My process is very simple and something that I have had success with.  The benefit of this simple method is that it is something that is easily duplicatable.

The 9 steps for success in your Real Home Business:

1. Keep the business simple – talk to people, send prospects a simple message, and follow up/sign up.  This business needs to be duplicatible for others.  KISS.
2. 6. Develop a Presentation, a Success System for Prospects – develop and implement a successful, duplicatible system for new enrollees in your real home business.  With Numis Network, we have a great training program that your leaders have developed that helps new folks in the business.  Check out our Numis Presentation HERE.  A success system is important to help get new folks make money right away.  Bottom line - your team needs to know how to expose their prospects into the business
7. Use a script to close business – keep it simple and make sure the prospect knows that this is simple duplication and easy to do.  Incorporate testimonials in your closing process
8. Do the Steps 5 – 7 over and over again (rinse & repeat)
9. Make a commitment to be a PRO.  Make a commitment to your family, your dreams, your life.

This business is very easy.  As Tom Challan points out all the time -- talk to people (#5), send them a simple message (#6), and follow-up/close (#7).  Its that easy!  I have incorporated these steps by using some basic tools to help grow my Numis Network business.  I talk to people using the Dani Johnson script book and training that I had from Tom Challan and his program (triple your sponsoring).  I send these prospects a simple message (www.mycoinsnetwork.info).

In order to function properly in your day to day lives, you really need to make sure that you are taking care of your body. Part of taking care of your body is eating properly, getting enough sleep, and exercising your body. In order to build a successful business and be productive in your job, you need to really have your body functioning at a high level. Exercise definitely helps this!

Working on my full time job while working on my fortune takes quite a bit of time and energy, so I need that extra energy that exercise gives me.

I have focused on taking care of my body the last few years and have lost about 30 lbs to date. How did I do this….focused on exercise and build this into my daily routine. I made sure that I got my workout …no matter how much I didn’t want to do it. Workouts that I focused on included P90X, Insanity, and my current focus which are Kettlebells.

I love kettlebells because the workouts are intense and you get a great weight-training and cardio workout all in one session. On top of it, there is something cool about swinging around a 53 lbs bell …very primal. I have been using workouts by Geoff Nupert.    He has some great workouts that I use including Kbell muscle and Kbell burn which are both great!  His workout provide great instruction and walks you thru each exercise.

No matter what your workout, make sure that you are mixing things up and continually confusing your body.
And remember, you body needs rest!

I had the great fortune of heading down to Tampa this past weekend and having the opportunity to meet up with some great leaders at Numis. The founding partners of this company – Chris, Ian, Jake – are definitely top notch folks that are really about putting their employees/distributors 1st. I had a chance to hear about their backgrounds in the industry and also how this great company Numis was formed. It was pretty interesting stuff that this concept of collectible assets was all conceived during a hockey game a few years ago.

Just spending time with them and seeing how they interacted with others just confirmed in my mind that they are good people with high integrity. To find out that all three of them have had substantial experience in the network marketing industry and they understand what their reps are doing and feeling on a day to day basis makes me confident that they will always have our best interest at heart.
On top of that, they did spend a good portion of their time this past weekend letting us all know that they have given us a nice pay raise going forward and a roadmap for success with the company. How cool is that! How many folks are receiving nice hefty pay raises this year. They really are taking care of their distributors and looking to make a huge splash in 2011.

Something else that really caught my eye this weekend was the top distributors in our company and how genuine and accessible they were to all of us that are starting up right now in this business. I had the opportunity to meet and learn from some of the great ones including David Wood, Ray Higdon, Erwin McKen, Larry Beacham, Cedric Harris, Burke Hedges, & Dave Lovett. I’m telling you all of these guys are all about helping us succeed. Why wouldn’t they….if we are successful – they will be successful. We truly have a great business model that fosters teamwork, collaboration, education, and support!

After this weekend, I feel really good about being a part of this company and excited about the vision that the founding partners provided us.

Why do most people settle for job security instead of financial freedom?

For most of us, it has been ingrained in us our entire lives from our education system, our family & friends, and 95% of the people we are in contact with each and every day.  We are not taught how to be financially free, we are taught how to get into a good college so we can get a nice paying job with a major employer.

I am reading the Rich Dad’s Cash Flow Quadrant, the Guide to Financial Freedom and in this book Robert Kiyosaki discusses this issue head on and how you can move from the job security mindset to one of financial freedom.  If you are familiar with Robert Kiyosaki, you know that his focus is on moving from the left quadrants (E,S) over to the right quadrants (B,I).  In essence, it is moving from security to freedom.  Most people choose the security over freedom.  But you really need to re-evaluate your decisions because employers are no longer loyal to you.  You will have your position off shored to another country to save a couple bucks.  Additionally, the tax situation in this country is out of control and for our government to continue to pay for all of these entitlement programs like the newly passed healthcare program your taxes will be going thru the roof.  We are currently working half the year for the government ….gee thanks!

According to Robert Kiyosaki, there is way to get from the job security quadrant (E) over to the financially free quadrants (B,I).  The solution is finding a business system and having others work the system for you.  There are three types of business systems: Traditional, Franchise, and Network Marketing.  There are pros and cons to each system but the one that interests me is the Network Marketing System.

Have you ever sat in the office at your JOB and wondered what the heck are you doing here? What is the point of my existence if I am stuck in an office all day long sitting on conference calls and pushing spreadsheets and word documents thru email all day long. Is this really what was meant for me when I was born those many years ago? Is this where I thought I would be when I was younger or where my parents thought I would be at this point in my life? The answer across the board was probably a big fat NO.

When I grew up, my dad was always traveling and not home too much during the week. I vowed then that I would not be working in a dead end corporate job supporting The Man. I did not want to kill myself for a paycheck at the expense of my family and seeing my kids grow up. Don't get me wrong, my dad was great to us when we were younger and I cherished every second that he was around. I guess what I am saying is that I want to see my kids grow up all the time and be there for them when they get out of school each day. To be there when they need help with their homework or have questions about life.

My goal in my early twenties was to be a millionaire by the time I was 30 and retire and enjoy life and travel the world. This obviously has not happened. At 38, I have a beautiful wife and two great kids ages 2 and 3 that are depending on me to bring home the bacon. At my current pace in my JOB, I will be working until I am probably in my mid sixties and will miss out on my kids growing up and I will stick all of the pressure on my wife to teach and educate our kids. The current path that I am going down is completely unacceptable for me at this point in my life.

Add on top of this the overall uncertainty regarding the jobs outlook in the US and the huge risk for myself and many other working professionals that our jobs will be shipped overseas or eliminated all together. It is really time to start to add some skills to my knowledge base, generate some additional income streams, and protect myself from the unknown. But more importantly, find a way to spend more time with my family.

The answer has been sitting in front of me and in front of may folks for a long time, its network marketing.
I know, you have negative thoughts on network marketing because it does not go along with the narrative that we have been taught and has been ingrained in us our entire lives. Go to school, get a nice corporate job, a nice office, a big mortgage, and spend the next 30 years working and paying off your mortgage...you know, living the American Dream. The only problem is that job market is very volatile, there is no employer loyalty, the social security will be insolvent when we finally retire...so all the things we were counting on are no longer there.

Network Marketing is the answer!

The advantages of network marketing are numerous: the training & support is in place, low start-up costs, ability to start part-time, there are significant tax advantages, high profit potential, and residual income potential. There are so many great companies available to join and tools out there for both online and offline success are numerous.

Why is network marketing the way to go...because the 'American Dream' is a scam.

We have all been fooled into thinking the way to go was college (debt), marriage and a house (debt/mortgage), and sitting in a corporate job that stinks waiting to get outsourced to a 3rd world nation.  What a joke and 95% of the American people are walking zombies and falling into this trap.  Who says that we have to work Monday - Friday and we only get two weeks off of vacation each year?  When did that become the 'norm'?

Not sure about you but I don't want to live this way and have to ask my boss if I can take a day off of work to spend time with my family.  Not again!  Why join a network marketing business...because I can work for myself and not have to ask for vacation time each year, but below are some more reasons why its the way to go.  I have added some quotes throughout this list, all from the great Jim Rohn.

- A network marketing job creates a level playing field for all people.  There is no seniority or discrimination in this industry as long as you can produce.  Success is all determined by how hard you are willing to work and sacrifice to reach your goals.

- There is little investment to start this business.  In most cases, you can start with less than $1k and have the potential to make a comfortable six-figure income.  "If you are not willing to risk the unusual, you will have to settle for the ordinary"

- This network marketing business depends only on YOUR effort.  At the end of the day, you can blame only yourself if you do not succeed.  If you work hard, you will reap the rewards but if you do not sow the seeds for success, you will not harvest.  "The soil says, "Don't bring me your need. Bring me your seed."

- Network Marketing has an Immediate Mentorship Program.  People in this industry are genuinely interested in helping you succeed because this industry is a big Team.  Your team is all in the game together and all looking to succeed -- you are all driving towards the same goal.  There is no infighting about who will get a promotion or will get the corner office.  Your network marketing team is focused on building a strong team guided towards a common goal.  "One person caring about another represents life's greatest value"

- This is a part time business.  You can be very successful in network marketing working it as a part time business.  You can continue to work your full time job and part time with network marketing.  "I am working my job full-time at my job and part-time at my fortune".

- You get to pick your team.  With your job, you have people that you work with and you have to deal with it.  Some folks that you work with in your JOB are slackers while others get the job done.  You don't need to worry about this with your network marketing business because you get to choose your team.  You get to determine what people and what type of person you want to work with.

- Business Building for the Next Generation.  You can build this business and pass this along to your family and create true wealth and freedom.  You are building an asset that you can then let your family continue to build and reap the rewards.

- Because of the residual income and building a HUGE network the larger the business, the less effort it takes.  As you work hard and build your business for 3-5 years and you do it the right way, you can kick back and relax a little and continue to reap the rewards.  As time goes by, the business building will take less effort.

- Economic Proof Business - right now during our economic problems facing this country and the world's economy, network marketing is growing like a weed because people are starting to see the light on what is going on.  There are no guarantees and right now many US jobs are either being shipped overseas are are not coming back at all.

- You Sow what you Reap.  If you give and help others in Network Marketing, it will come back on you multiple times with residual income.  "Giving is better than receiving because giving starts the receiving process"
